e6: Laura Ortner, Fertility Coach

SHOW NOTES: In her own words…

“At 36 I received the news no woman ever wants to hear. ‘Sorry, but you can’t have your own children.’ I just sat there and couldn’t say a thing. I knew there had to be other options, but they were making it clear that my chances sat around 1%. After reeling from the news, I decided to make my own plan B. Through a natural approach with included non-toxic products, eastern medicine and supplements I made that plan B work.

My story started when I was 35. I met the love of my life a little later than some. We knew from day one that we wanted children. I was married at 36 and had already started trying at the time. We were pregnant naturally the next summer, but miscarried at 7 weeks. Six months later my OB/GYN suggested we go to a fertility doctor. After trying Clomid and a few options, they finally ran some tests. They sat me down and told me that due to my hormone levels I would never have a child of my own. They gave me a 1% chance with very little optimism. They finished by mentioning adoption or donor eggs as our only options, then sent us on our way. I refused to believe that there was nothing I could do. From there I started researching every single site and book I could get my hands on. I was determined to prove them wrong.

I feel like I have been through it all. Four rounds of IVF, 4 miscarriages, ovarian cysts, donor eggs. I knew I was meant to be a Mom, and in June 2019 that came to be. Madison Grace was born via our own biological embryo through IVF. I am so grateful for everything I have learned through this process, but also know how hard it is, and how much misleading information is out there.

I have taken my struggles and turned them into my passion project. I now help women in similar situations either get pregnant naturally, or naturally prime their body to ensure the best success during assisted reproductive treatments like IVF.”
